I have had the opportunity to begin researching many different figures from many different time periods and fields, and so far I have come to find that many of these people have gone through difficult times similar to what clients I have worked with have been through, an indication that they’re human just like everyone else! Just because someone has attained fame and fortune does not entitle them to an ideal life, it just makes them their unique self, like everybody else.
In undertaking this passion project, my ultimate goal is to educate the public about the presence, or in some cases absence of mental health issues or mental illness in these well-known individuals to showcase how everyone can deal with adversity and hardships, and everyone can overcome their hardships if they make the choice to do so. Everyone has their own unique skill set and attributes that contributes to the world at large, which in turn allows them to contribute in bettering the world in their own way. One of the reasons I love what I do is that I am given the opportunity to hear the stories of many individuals (that must be the history buff in me talking!) While working with clients, I attempt to immerse myself in their shoes, which sometimes involves role-playing in session so that I can understand a certain situation, which better helps me to tailor appropriate treatment to help clients reach their full potential!
I have an endless list of people I am researching, however I am always open to ideas. Feel free to reach me with your suggestions at ashley.waller0830@gmail.com.
Up first, the inspiration for the project: Charles Lindbergh…
